We have noted a great interest in growing potatoes in bags. So we have started our first series of growing potatoes in bags.

We used 2 x 20KG feed sacks, the type that Chicken feed comes in, one inside the other. I then rolled down the tops so that a shollow planing container was made. In each I placed 2 sprouting potatoes.

We placed the bags so they could lean against one of our raised garden beds. As they grow we will slowly unroll the bags and add more soil.

Update: 3 weeks later.
The picture to the right shows the spuds sprouting. As soon as they are tall enough we will start adding soil. Check back in a few weeks as will update this article as they grow.
